The third Secrets album undoubtedly counted as artistically speaking the band’s bravest move to date. The first album to feature bass player Neil Robinson, the band dispensed with many of the pop-bent trademarks associated with their sound and replaced it with a darker, moodier edge evoking some of their earliest material. Punchy, acidic workouts such as 'Depart' and 'Lies & Unconsciousness' combined with vast atmospheric soundscapes such as 'The Next Big Thing', the title track and the apocalyptic 'Closer' to prove that this was a band daring enough to reinvent themselves.
